Monotypic. Plumage varies, non-breeding (late summer to late winter) and breeding (other times). Differences seem minor, e.g., breeding has pale yellowish plumes "about 120mm long on rear of crown and nape" and yellowish plume on upper break/wing coverts. M/F similar.
