Monotypic. Plumage consistent, but breeding (MAR-AUG) and non-breeding (SEPT-MAR) with some minor difference. BOW notes the two plumage are similar with minor differences and fringing of non-breeding feathers results in bolder breeding plumage. M/F differs with F being paler/softer in color. Apparently F looks more like M as they age.
