2ISSF, one widespread and one limited to Veracruz. Plumage consistent. M/F similar. I remember the first and best time observing this bird in Occoquan Bay NWR. It came down to nearly eye level and the white of its eye was so vibrant -- an unforgettable look. Sadly I was new to my digiscope and had no camera at the time.
