2ISSF, red grouse in UK and willow throughout Alaska and nordic countries. Plumage varies, with breeding all white and non-breeding varying (see M/F notes). M/F differ, with nominate male in non-breeding being white on lower portion of body and nominate female more scaled brown. The red grouse subspecies has its own differing patterning.
